NATIONAL RURAL LIVELIHOODS MISSION (NRLM)

                The main objective of the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM) is to reduce poverty through building strong grassroots institution of the poor. These institutions enable the poor households to access gainful self employment and skilled wage employment opportunities resulting the appreciable increase in their incomes, on a sustainable basis.

                To implement the NRLM programme in Mizoram, the Govt. has formed a society called the Mizoram, the Govt. has formed a society called the Mizoram State Rural Livelihood Mission (MzSRLM) having a registration No.MSR 385 of 18.08.2011. It has a Governing Body under the chairmanship of the Hon’ble minister, Rural Development and Executive Committee chaired by the Secretary, Rural Development Department.

                There are four intensive RD blocks in Mizoram, The four intensive RD blocks are from Kolasib and Serchhip District, In each RD block, there are Block Mission Director, Block Mission Manager assisted by four Cluster Coordinators, Block Mission accountant and Computer assistant.
